A Trip To The Moon (1902)

No deal, McCutcheon, that moon money is mine!

I've not got a whole lot to say on this one. An 8 minute short from the early, early annals of film history. I could attempt to be pretentious and claim to have gotten something from this but other than the iconographic picture above, this film didn't really do anything for me.

BEST SCENE: The iconic man in the moon shot is still somewhat recognizable to even the most minor cinephile.

BEST CHARACTER: N/A.

BEST QUOTE: N/A

RATING:  ★★☆ - I was neither blown away or disappointed with this early silent film. There were a couple of interesting shots and if you want to say you've got good film scholarship and have seen all the important films, this is probably one to search out.

  1. This little movie is more iconographic than actually good and mostly on the List for the historic significance. Imagine watching this in 1902, only a few years after the Lumiere brothers filmed an arriving train, and marvel at the magic on the screen.
